Why shrink back in fear when we have bright eyes and listening ears and a beating heart and a mind that knows just what needs to happen next? Why let doubt and indecision rule the day when we have all the love we need to keep us afloat? Why not trust life to make itself known in us and through us, to carry us forward with faith and unfailing devotion?

We are here. We have been placed in this particular moment in the long arc of time. And we have been born with an utterly unique blend of gifts that will never be brought into being by anyone else, ever again. Do we need any more inspiration than this to live with vigor and vitality? Do we need any other messenger to tell us that we belong to family of life, that we were meant to shine?

Why waste another moment more doubting our sure footing or double-crossing our own intentions? Why live half, when we can live with sparkling eyes and whole heart? Why not rise up into our full stature and grow into the vessel of light that we are surely meant to be?

There are those among us who might tell us otherwise. There are some who yearn to steal our agency, reducing us to lemmings who blindly follow the proclamations and propaganda of others. Let's not fall for this any more. Let's not waste another second lost in delusion or doubt. Let's stand tall and use all the strength we’ve been given to create the world we most want to inhabit, on behalf of ourselves and everyone around us.

Some say the Buddha’s last instruction to his disciples was this: “Move into the future with confidence.” Yes! Let’s stay close to our own true north - our sense of purpose and passion - and carry it forth with sure steps and awakened minds. We pass through this world only once and we have only this chance to shine. We need only move forward, step after faithful step, with clear eyes and hearts filled with love.
